I am shocked at the ending of the book... not because it was creative or amazing. The author simply looked at the page count and said, "Whoops, I'm at my page limit, no time to wrap up anything... the end... see you in 5 years!" Really, the only character who managed some sort of a decent ending was young Ian. Everyone else was left to hang mid-danger. I felt cheated, like I'd just watched a bad soap opera and have to wait for tomorrow to find out the rest. Except in this case, the followup to the bad soap opera is not coming for 3-5 years and by then, I will have no idea where the characters left off.
